Safe Casualty Plus provides you with a list of emergency care providers nearest to your location and directions to your chosen provider.
Service Classifications
Emergency care services are grouped under 4 categories, each complementary and part of a bigger health system. The four classes are:-
· Standard
· Standard Plus
· Comprehensive
· Specialised
The scope of services delivered within each of the classes are described below:-
Standard
Initial evaluation: initial assessment and triage of patients to determine the urgency and type of care needed.
Stabilisation: stabilise patients experiencing acute medical issues, including basic life support, bleeding control and initial wound care.
Diagnostic capabilities: Basic diagnostic services.
Treatment: Limited range of treatments, often focusing on minor injuries and illnesses. May provide initial management of more serious conditions before transfer.
Standard Plus
Meets all the requirements of the Standard class with additional Point of Care laboratory equipment and medications. They do not fully meet the requirements of the Comprehensive class.
Comprehensive
Full range of emergency services: Treats a wide variety of medical conditions, from minor illnesses and injuries to serious emergencies.
Advanced diagnostic capabilities: Includes CT scans, MRIs, extensive laboratory testing, and specialised imaging.
Full treatment capabilities: Includes advanced life support, complex wound care, emergency surgeries and management of critical conditions such as heart attacks, strokes and severe trauma. Availability of an intensive care unit.
Consultant-led 24-hour service with full resuscitation facilities and designated accommodation for the reception of accident and emergency patients.
Specialised
Specialised Care: Focus on particular types of emergencies, providing highly specialised treatment and expertise.
Consultant-led specialty services – paediatric emergency departments, cardiac centres, stroke centres, burn centres, dental centres and trauma centres.
